Whether you are eco-curious, going zero, or living carbon neutral - here are a few sustainable wedding ideas & resources to help you plan your big day!

Localized Information

Sustainable vendors love sharing about the history and impact of their products and services (us included!). If you are striving for a sustainable wedding, there is so many incredible resources, organizations, and team to help you find your best materials, earth-friendly options or methods, and possible donation opportunities post-celebration. Wherever you plan to host your wedding, we would love to help with information for your area!

Ideas & Resources

Registry

Whether a couple is hoping to add a donation option for their favorite non-profit or to dedicate their entire registry to charitable donations, there are so many options for their wedding gift registry. Couples can dedicate their registry to a wide range of charities in one place at The Good Beginning. A number of organizations like the Sierra Club and World Wildlife Fund also offer direct wedding registry options.

Wedding Attire Donations

Wedding attire - everything from gowns to jumpsuits, shoes to tuxedos - can be given a second life by donating to Success in Style, Brides for a Cause, Brides Against Breast Cancer, Dress for Sucess, your favorite local charity, or a local Salvation Army. Your tax-deductible donation will not only level up your recycling, but also helping these wonderful causes raise funds in the future.

Carbon Offsetting

We love the approachable tools and calculators on Carbon Fund (Offset Your Life - Donate to Carbon Reduction). The Good Traveler is perfect for couples and guests hoping to focus on offsetting plane travel. TerraPass is unique in that it offers simple and easy wedding packages (Wedding Carbon Offsets Packages). Couples can also work with organizations directly, like Colorado based Trees, Water & People. Local organizations can also sometimes help you create a more detailed carbon offsetting action plan.

Leave No Trace

Practical resources and approachable action steps that can apply to everything from off the beaten path elopements to outdoor celebrations close to home.

Invitations & Paperworks

From paperless, online options (Paperless Post & Greenvelope.com) to sustainable paper and earth friendly inks (Paper Culture) to plantable seed paper invites (Botanical PaperWorks) - there are so many options for invitations.

Products & Favors

Whether couples are looking for straws (that make wonderful favors too!), toilet paper that makes you laugh (2020 edition), or sustainable options for almost anything - here a few great places to look.

Solar Service Options

We love an outdoor ceremony, and being able to be in remote settings opens up a world of possibilities. A solar ceremony became the perfect solution. We now offer everything from solar-powered lighting to full solar receptions. We strive to be a carbon neutral (or negative!) company with the help of carbon offsetting and mindful operations.
